Abstract

In this paper, a management system for a network-based information system is proposed, which consists of an object-oriented database management system to maintain multimedia data files, a script generating system to produce control scripts for data presentation, and a preprocessing system to compose images or animations with Chinese fonts. The management system as well as the information system has been installed in the National Chiao Tung University of R.O.C. to present all kinds of information. Based upon the statistic results by querying 562 users, we conclude that, with the help of the management system, the information system has become a popular system in the school
