Abstract
An approximate, high-frequency solution for the scattering by a vertex is presented. The formulation is based on a spectral representation of the field diffracted by an edge, which is combined with an ILDC response of the second, adjacent diffracting edge. The solution is constructed as the superposition of simple interaction mechanisms between two adjacent edges. In spite of the simplicity of this basic assumption, the resulting expressions contain the necessary information to provide the required augmentation for the dominant, edge ray field contributions, including second-order diffraction mechanisms. The solution described has a desirable, very simple form, which explicitly satisfies reciprocity.<>
