Abstract :
A critical study of the resonant frequencies of the equilateral triangular patch antenna is presented. The contributions include: (1) verification of the previous experimental data of J.S. Dahele and K.F Lee (see IEEE Trans. Antennas & Propag., vol.AP-35, no.1, p.100-1, 1987) by moment-method results; (2) novel measurements and moment-method results for epsilon /sub r/=10, which show that X. Gang´s hypothesis (see IEEE Trans. Antennas & Propag., vol.AP-37, no.2, p.245-7, 1989) is invalid; and (3) a curve fitting formula yielding accuracies of better than 1% for the resonant frequencies.<>
