Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a timeslot allocation scheme in all-optical TDM networks with no traffic buffering. The purpose of the new scheme is to take the blocking rate to an optimal level close to what can be achieved with the use of buffers. Previous works considered the first fit and least loaded approaches to reserve timeslots in networks that include buffers and multi-fibers. Our proposed scheme applies to more basic networks that have single unidirectional fibers and no buffers.
