Abstract :
Presents a new signaling scheme designed for today´s aggressive process interconnect scaling aimed at reducing cross-talk noise. The scheme uses band-limited basis waveforms or raised cosine approximation (RCA) pulses to minimize the crosstalk noise due to higher frequency components. Simplified interconnect modeling shows that this technique is particularly beneficial for high-density local and global interconnects. Simulation results predict a reduction of approximately 18 dB of sideband noise power at 3 times the fundamental frequency (3f 0).
