Abstract :
In order to evaluate specific multiple antenna techniques in a ultra wide band context, we developed a deterministic MIMO-UWB channel simulator based on a ray tracing approach combined with frequency domain geometrical optics and uniform theory of diffraction (GO-UTD). This paper presents the theoretical framework used in the simulator. It exhibits reciprocity of the transmission channel. It is well adapted for both practical ray tracing implementation and digital communication channel models realization. The access of angle of departure and arrival offered by the ray tracing approach gives a deeper understanding of physical phenomena involved in MIMO transmissions
