Abstract :
A thorough investigation of resistively loaded patches is provided. Comparisons with shorted patches are given such that the advantages and disadvantages of this new form of printed antenna can be established. Terminating a cavity backed shorted patch with a resistive load is also examined in an attempt to improve its impedance behavior. Again, the tradeoffs of using this technology are presented.
