Abstract :
Results of Partial Discharges (PD) measurements performed on various kinds of defects artificially produced are processed on the basis of the Weibull statistics. It is shown that the partial-discharge height distributions fit the two-parameter Weibull function when partial discharges having the same origin occur, while deviations from the Weibull plot are detected in the presence of various partial-discharge phenomena simultaneously occurring. Probability functions based on the additive-mixed Weibull distribution are used to fit data obtained in the presence of two different types of partial discharge phenomena. The shape parameter of the Weibull function appears to be characteristic of the kind of the detected phenomenon
