Abstract :
Speckle-free non periodic near field Fresnel phase plates are designed using the iterative algorithm. This design is motivated by the potential use of those elements as beam shaping devices; to enhance the functionality of lasers cavities; and in optical interconnections between chips, fibers and waveguides. The elements were implemented using a phase-mostly liquid crystal television (LCTV) and photolithography process. Since the discrete Fourier transform in the computer design does not give full speckle pattern of the optically reconstructed image, the phase-mostly LCTV is useful for testing diffractive optical elements before the fabrication
