Abstract :
Event similarity computation in text plays a vital role in the research of event ontology and construction, reduction as well as expansion of event networks. Furthermore, it\´s the precondition for application of event-based knowledge system. Existing event similarity computation methods are merely suitable for event ontology. In this paper, a new method for event similarity computation in texts is proposed, which is based on "TongyiciCilin" and "Maximum String Match". Experiment results indicate the approach is reasonable and effective.
