Abstract :
In this paper, a series load-resonant converter for high-voltage corona generator is presented. The high-frequency, high-voltage electric source is designed by employing a series load-resonant converter with the corona discharger as part of the electric circuit. The equivalent circuit of the high-frequency transformer modeled by the introduction of the stray capacitance effect is proposed and the circuit model of the high-voltage corona discharger is conducted as well. Thus, the overall model of the high-voltage corona generator is built and the designing procedures for the appropriate selection of the corresponding resonant-circuit parameters can be established. Finally, a high-voltage corona generator with 220 V, 60 Hz, and 1 kW input, 22 kHz and over 8 kV power converter, is realized and implemented.
