Abstract
We experimentally demonstrate the use of Bragg grating reflectors in an intrinsic all fiber polarimetric force sensor. Lateral force applied to the fiber induces a proportional birefringence. If the region in the fiber where the force is applied contains a Bragg grating, it will exhibit two reflection peaks associated with orthogonal polarization modes. The measured force sensitivity was of 7.2×10 -2 nm/kg for this specific set-up and a very low temperature dependence is expected
