Abstract
Using a conventional hysteresis current control for SRMs, the switching frequency varies dramatically and could exceed the limit of switching devices. This could lead to damages of switching devices and also reduce the reliability of the drive. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an additional adaptation in the conventional hysteresis current control for SRMs in order to keep the switching frequency under the defined value. The proposed method is simple and was implemented using a simple logic circuit. The functionality of the developed current control was verified by experimental results.
