Abstract :
In this paper, we propose two models to compare the different mobile TCP/IP solutions: the time model and traffic model. Most of the existing solutions support mobile communications in either link layer, the IP layer or TCP layer. Our two-step solution employs a different way: portability is supported in the IP layer and mobility in the socket layer, which has better system performance. A performance study is given
