  • Abstract
    Virtualization can provide significant benefits in data centers by enabling virtual machine migration to eliminate hotspots. In order to improve the overall resource utilization, we propose a new live virtual machine migration strategy. In the strategy, we use the load characteristics to implement hotspots detection, selection of virtual machine and migration destination host according to some multi-threshold patterns. Experimental results show that the new virtual machine migration strategy can effectively support live migration.
