Abstract :
A new data-aided linear prediction receiver for coherent continuous phase modulation (CPM) over Rayleigh flat-fading channel is presented. This receiver uses the previously detected symbols to estimate the carrier-phase reference and predict the channel gain continuously, and therefore makes the optimal coherent detection of CPM symbol-by-symbol. The receiver has a simple structure and can be implemented easily. Simulations on the bit error performance of minimum shift keying (MSK) with the new receiver in fast Rayleigh flat-fading channel are given. The results show that the proposed receiver can provide a reasonably good BER performance in a fast Rayleigh fading channel
