Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop a web-based training management system which assists citizen runners to establish the Plan-Do-See Cycle (PDSC) for their training. The developed system, having three major functions namely, training diary function, personal coaching function, and message board function, is available for one hundred concurrent users. Usability, privacy, and security were considered in the system in its development stage. For the system evaluations, this system was utilized by the members of a community sports club which promotes marathon training among citizens for three months. As a result, the number of members using the web-based training diary was more than double compared with the number of the members using paper-based training diary. Moreover, each satisfaction level with the three major functions of the system, was three or more out of a five on average score. In conclusion, we succeeded in developing a web-based training management system which can assist more citizen runners to establish the PDSC for their training.
