Abstract
The relative phase of the electronic signals radiated by communication and radar systems contain sufficient information regarding the state of the systems. For instance, the changes in a 16-QAM constellation of digital communication systems may indicate the fault source in the system. The use of a feedforward artificial neural network (ANN) in conjunction with the Hough transform (HT) to detect faults in a QAM system is demonstrated in this paper. The extension of the results to early warning instrument landing radar systems is also presented
