Abstract :
A novel method of pattern synthesis in terms of modified Gaussian beams is proposed. The approximation to the desired pattern which satisfies the minimum-mean-square-error criterion has ben found. It can be seen that the Hermitian functions play an important role in this method. It can also be seen that the generalized Hermitian functions make the synthesis method a flexible technique.<>
