Abstract :
This paper presents preliminary experimental results on a multimodal person authentication system, which uses lip information to improve the accuracy of a speaker recognition system. Speaker identification is performed on lip models generated from shape and intensity lip features. A novel scheme is proposed for selecting the best shape or intensity features to discriminate between speakers. Speaker classification is then performed using Gaussian mixture models.
