Abstract :
The way that video and audio material is edited in post production has changed, from the so-called “traditional” editing methods, to a range of nonlinear computer based workstations. These systems offer fast access to the original data, allowing multiple versions of the same basic material to be created, and the ability to make creative and technical changes at will. The FARAD (fast random access disk) system is discussed in particular
