Abstract
A new dictionary approach which deals with the diagnosis of both soft-fault and hard-fault of linear time-invariant resistive analog circuits with limited accessible terminals for excitation and measurement is proposed in this paper. The approach uses slope of voltage increment in two nodes as fault character for predefined faults in fault dictionary. This slope value could be used as fault symbol to diagnose both soft-fault and hard-fault. On the condition that the component tolerances are taken into account, three kinds of measurement results are discussed and handled. Example illustrates the proposed approach and shows its effectiveness.
