Abstract :
The interest in algorithms aimed at the estimation of object motion and aimed at simultaneous motion based image segmentation is rapidly increasing. Possible applications of such techniques can be found in many different fields, ranging from machine vision to video coding. In this paper an algorithm, based on least squares (LS), for the estimation of optical flow, and for the motion based segmentation of image sequences is described
