Abstract :
The paper is an exploratory study with a view to probing the awareness/interest, successful experience and act as a catalyst for further growth and development. The needs, aims and objectives are to (i) evaluate the success of energy conservation programmes and the degree to which they have been effective by eliciting information on practices followed including various aspects of conservation; (ii) problems faced in its practice and implementation; (iii) overall need for an energy audit, its success and popularity; (iv) assess the extent of the role of financial institution/banks, consultants, and their work quality; and (v) to create awareness, realization to implement energy saving projects and better energy management practices and in the process help them to help themselves
