Abstract :
It is shown that a corrugated soft surface can be used to control the radiation pattern of the line feed of the EISCAT VHF antenna. This works well for both the longitudinal and transverse (orthogonal) polarization, showing that such a surface has polarization-independent properties. In the EISCAT VHF antenna case, a substantial spillover reduction is obtained, but at the expense of an overall efficiency reduction.<>
