  • Abstract
Summary form only given. We discussed the physical aspects of the atoms´ optical orientation (AOO) in gases and vapours; experimental procedure and the possibility of this effect´s usage in scientific study. The essence of this exotic phenomenon consists of the following: light with a certain wavelength raises transitions of atoms (usually in transparent gaseous cells) from the basic condition on the nearest excited ones, from which the atoms pass back, letting out quantums of the appropriate frequency. These Zeeman sublevels are split by a weak magnetic field. Experimentally the NMR-absorption by an AOO-system was observed in vapours of many alkaline atoms and isotopes of mercury etc
