Abstract :
Secretory cavity is not only a common protecting structure in Citrus, but also a primary site of the synthesis, secretion, and collection of effective components. For the stereo microscopic structure of secretory cavity in Citrus, there still has been few reports. In this paper, all continuous sections of half Citrus fruit were achieved by paraffin slice. These sections were double stained with crocus-fast green. Through Zeiss Stemi 2000-c microscopic photographing and Adobe Photoshop CS3 image processing, a three dimensional structure of secretory cavities in semi-fruit was built by software platform Velocity 4. And the number of secretory cavities was counted by Ipwin51c. The purpose of the study was to find a quick way to determine the distribution and quantity of secretory cavities in Citrus fruits.
