Abstract :
An analysis of the plane wave scattering from periodically strip-loaded dielectric cylinders is presented. The problem of analyzing the electromagnetic scattering from homogeneous dielectric cylinders which are loaded with perfectly conducting strips is formulated in terms of the currents on the strips. An electric field integral equation is constructed in terms of these currents by forcing the tangential components of the total electric field along the strips to vanish. Numerical results are presented. The particular geometry investigated consists of a rectangular dielectric cylinder measuring L by 0.2L free space wavelengths with relative permittivity equal to 3.<>
