Abstract :
This manuscript describes the need for the development of a nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) communications network and the different components that went into building the network nodes for the network. The NBC communications network is a system of network nodes that allow sensors to communicate with a host computer to alert military personnel if a hazardous material has entered their area. This project is important because of the value it places on human life. If implemented correctly, this project will eliminate any unnecessary trips into a zoned hazardous area, thus protecting the lives of military personnel. The adaptability of this project allows the network could be transferred to cities and buildings to protect the lives of civilians. The desire for safety drives this project to continue to improve accuracy of the sensors and decrease the need for human involvement
