Abstract :
The result of the Most Efficient Organization (MEO) contract awarded in September 2002 was a reduction in personnel strength and the consolidation of operating functions for the Directorate of Logistics (DOL) at the United States Military Academy (USMA). The purpose of our research is to analyze the USMA warehouse operations that support West Point and other local military installations and units. Our research includes an analysis of the current warehouse system, demand for services, and resource allocation. We developed a value model, evaluation measures and a discrete event model to analyze several alternatives. Our results will be used by the client to improve the efficiency and productivity of the downsized organization
