Abstract :
The authors consider a class of shaped dihedral metallic reflectors whose surface is parameterized in a very general way. They discuss analytical and numerical techniques for calculating the far-field scattering by a combination of geometrical optics and physical optics, whatever the target attitude versus polarization and incidence of the incident wave. They then describe an application of a cross-polarization passive calibrator for airborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) applications, which is a modified dihedral with a curved vertex.<>
