Abstract :
This paper describes the application of a Prony-based method for the identification of low-order linear models of detailed three-phase power systems modeled in electromagnetic transient programs (EMTP). A description of the method and discussion of practical issues are included. It is shown that the identified model approximates the response of the three-phase system and preserves interarea and torsional modes
