Abstract :
Summary form only given. The key aims for establishing broadband power line communications in the world today is the development of an international standard that is recognised by all parties involved in wireline standards. There are many committees, both at country and world level striving to produce a reliable and robust standard that are recognised by all agencies. To develop such a standard it is a key requirement to undertake key measurements of a range of parameters that provides the cardinal information and direction for a full empirical model for seamless communications over any network in the world. This presentation follows these parameters through measurements, how and why they should be made and there significance in formulating a standard. Other factors and views are also expressed.
