Abstract
A method to study the myocardium local contractility is presented using vector field sequences, computed from echocardiograms. The local contractility was quantified from the eigenvectors and eigenvalues associated with each region of interest. The resulting parameters were studied for the detection of pathologies displaying abnormal contraction patterns
