Abstract :
This paper description the installation of 75 kW of the Amonix high concentration photovoltaic (HCPV) system at the Nevada Power Company Clark Generation Station of Las Vegas, NV. A description of the basic principle of optical concentration, the physical size of the unit, the day-to-day operation, and the build-in data acquisition system are discussed. An example of a power generation profile over the day and an estimate of the annual generated energy are presented. A summary of the analysis that was performed to determine the locations of the foundation and the annual loss of energy from shadowing is presented. The installations of the different subsystems are described including a pictorial sequence of the different installation steps. There are also a description and pictures of the equipment used to install the three units
