Abstract :
An extension of an array synthesis method based on the method of successive projections to the rapid power-pattern synthesis design of shaped reflectors is presented. Because the method does not require the numerical calculation of gradients, it is computationally efficient, and will run effectively on a workstation. The method is illustrated by a design example for an Intel sat ´hemi´ beam. Although the simplest, rectangular segmentation of the reflector surface was used, very good results were achieved.<>
