Abstract :
Node localization with fewer resources and less computing time is an important and challenging issue in the field of wireless sensor network (WSN). There are a variety of localizing algorithms and testing methods to deal with that problem. Taking account of the error variable caused by practical interference and the difficulty to use standard mathematical function to describe the model, a method using distance-weighted average and taking the largest received signal strength indicator (RSSI) is proposed. It improves the trilateral algorithm and overcome short-term signal interference. The traditional methods are modified accordingly to suit conditions when the beacon nodes are located in different environment. Finally, the localizing effects of the 3 localizing algorithms were compared. The results show that the new method gets a higher accuracy than traditional algorithms.
