Abstract :
This paper presents the security-enhanced virtual channel rendezvous (SVCR) algorithm to improve the robustness of a dynamic spectrum access (DSA) network against attacks from power-constrained smart jammers. The jammer is smart in the sense that it senses and analyzes the spectrum activities of the DSA network before launching an attack. SVCR does not use a common control channel. In addition, it combines a pseudorandom channel mapping, the direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) technique, and conventional cryptography techniques. To evaluate the security of SVCR, we consider (1) the computational complexity that the smart jammer needs to overcome for effective jamming, and (2) the achievable disruption generated by the smart jammer to the receiving of the target DSA signals. Analysis shows the anti-jamming capability of SVCR.
