Abstract :
Lakes is an architecture for collaborative working developed to support a wide range of collaborative applications of the “same time/different place” variety, across different platforms and communications media. This paper outlines some key features of the architecture, focusing on the way in which it surfaces “call-related” policy decisions to an application, the call manager. It discusses the design of possible call managers in a Lakes environment in some detail
