Abstract
The present article introduces the main qualitative and quantitative results obtained in a pilot study of e-portfolio implementation in two different subjects offered in the Technical University of Catalonia (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, UPC). Specifically, this teaching innovation took place within the Technical Industrial and Aeronautics Engineering School (ETSEIAT) curricula. Our results indicate that the e-portfolio can be considered: 1) a complementary tool for student´s assessment and 2) an ideal follow-up device for monitoring student development (both generic and specific) throughout their degree studies. The useful data compiled allows us to draw general conclusions and therefore, consider its implementation in the second cycle of Industrial Organization (IO) Engineering as well as the additional degrees taught at the UPC.
