Abstract :
This paper summarizes the main findings and conclusions of a study undertaken by the authors for the State of California Air Resources Board (USA). The purpose of the study was to assess the current state of automotive fuel cell technology development and the prospects for fuel cells to become practical power sources for automobiles. The study surveyed the automotive fuel cell programs of major automobile manufacturers and of fuel cell component and system developers in Europe, Japan and North America
