Abstract
This paper considers time synchronization in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) under the maximum value based time synchronization protocol (MTS) with switching topologies when time delay can be negligible. Four major cases have been discussed in the paper : 1) undirected networks with jointly connected switching topologies; 2) convergence conditions are compared between fixed topology and switching topologies; 3) the effects of the Fiedler eigenvalue of Laplacian matrix of topology to the convergence time are considered; 4) the effect of switching topologies time T to the convergence time. In this paper, novel and practical algorithms using to generate both undirected and directed topologies for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are proposed. Moreover, a series of examples and simulations are presented to illustrate our main results.
