Abstract :
Employing MIMO architecture in the next generation of various broadcasting systems offers the potential to obtain higher spectral efficiency as well as diversity gain. This Letter presents the experimental step of a project aimed at the implementation of a 2×2 MIMO-OFDM architecture to improve reliability and capacity, respectively, for wireless communications. The design of SFBC are proposed for transmit antennas that can obtain full diversity. The work is based on measurements of the MIMO channel in a portable reception environment. Therefore the description of signal processing is detailed including the pilot insertion, design of code, OFDM modulation/demodulation, channel modeling, and channel estimation. Thus we adapt a simply adjusted CMMB system as one application of MIMO system and provide its computer simulation results comparing the performance of conventional CMMB to MIMO CMMB.
