Abstract :
Third generation (3G) wireless services are being widely adopted in the global market place with CDMA as the preferred technology solution. So far, the CDMA2000 1X, 1xEV-DO and WCDMA standards have emerged as the main wireless technologies providing high quality voice and high speed data services to the vast majority of current 3G subscribers. The main focus of 3G has been to provide high capacity voice and high downlink data throughput. New enhancements are in order in both major flavors of 3G CDMA standards to enhance the downlink performance and importantly provide significantly capable uplink air interface.
