Abstract :
It has been shown in earlier publications (Orlando 1994) that learning from examples is an efficient possibility for knowledge acquisition. Very often the examples can be described by binary variables and logic functions. The use of prototypes (examples) and the subsequent change to fuzzy models can be done in any stage of the modelling process. The paper shows that many problems arising in this context can be solved by considering fuzzy-logic equations and systems of fuzzy-logic equations in a very general sense. The basic concepts and procedures are presented. Some applications and further research problems are included. Efficient algorithms and software package for the treatment of fuzzy-logic equations and systems of equations will be an efficient means for the construction of fuzzy-logic models
