Abstract
The scattering characteristics of various rectangular coaxial line discontinuities with which a satellite beamforming network (BFN) is built are investigated by the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. Good agreement has been found between the numerical results and the experimental data, the effectiveness and accuracy of the present approach are thus justified. Some numerical results are given to establish useful guidelines for the design of BFNs
