Abstract :
In the recent past lot of research has been taken place for the medium access control protocols for wireless ATM with their relative merit and demerits. This protocol is centered around the view that worst case waiting time for any user should not become infinite and at the same time the best effort should be provided not to drop any handoff call or the existing call. The contention method assumed for the channel access is CSMA/CA. A new call request is not dropped even if the bandwidth is not provided rather it recirculates with increasing priority. This leads to a higher acceptance probability of new calls.
