Abstract
In this paper an efficient scheme for failure detection and identification and adaptive reconfigurable control is proposed for spacecraft control in the presence of actuator failures, control input saturation, and large external disturbances. The resulting intelligent controller increases the spacecraft autonomy substantially. The scheme is based on the general methodology of multiple models, switching, and tuning and is developed in the context of nonlinear spacecraft dynamics. Excellent response obtained using the proposed scheme is illustrated through numerical simulations
