Abstract
The study investigated the effects of Internet instruction on grammar learning. This study involved 77 students enrolled in the Diploma in Hotel Management at MARA University of Technology (UiTM), Dungun Campus. The students were put in three different settings: full-Internet instruction (28 students), partial-Internet instruction (23 students) and non-Internet instruction (26 students). The results showed the students who received full-Internet instruction scored significantly higher on a multiple-choice test covering certain grammatical structures than the students who received non-Internet instruction. The findings also indicated that the students who had full-Internet instruction produced fewer grammatical errors in their written test than the students who received the other two types of instruction. These results show that the Internet can be an effective tool in the teaching of second language (L2) grammar.
