Abstract :
Fiber In The Loop (FITL) systems are capable of supporting a variety of residential voice, data, and video services. This paper presents a network management information model based on the Common Management Information Protocol (CMIP) for managing FITL systems with switched end-to-end ATM transport capabilities. Such systems may employ very high rate Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) or other technologies to transport ATM traffic to the premises. Our management information model is a cohesive extension of existing standards, and is suitable to support the Operation, Administration, Maintenance, and Provisioning (OAM&P) of a variety of FITL systems supporting voice, data, and video
